As much as I love fashion, I loathe packing. I always wait until the last minute, over pack and then pack some more.<\/p>\n

This week I\u2019m heading to Music City Nashville for a blogging and branding conference. This is a gathering of creative professionals from all over the South: members of the southern blogging community, businesses, and brands will come together for a packed day of learning and networking.<\/p>\n

As you can imagine the attire is not typical business attire either. As a blogger and social media manager, I want to look polished while showing off my personal style, while trying to keep my suitcase to a manageable size.<\/p>\n

Opening Cocktail Party Outfit<\/span><\/h3>\n

The first outfit is for the opening cocktail party where all of the attendees will get a chance to meet, mingle, and enjoy tasty food and drink at Mason Bar in the conference hotel Loews Vanderbilt. At cocktail parties I like to look polished but casual.<\/p>\n

This outfit: cream-colored tunic paired with jeggings will do exactly that. I have added extra layers- fur vest and infinity scarf for a little more flare and warmth. Since the outfit has a lot going on, simple gold earrings will top it off.<\/p>\n

The day of the conference is a long one so comfort is especially important. I love this funky skirt (Phillip Lim for Target) paired with a simple cropped sweater. To save packing space I chose boots that would work with both the opening night outfit and day of summit outfit.<\/p>\n

I never attend one of these events without my Canon camera strapped to me and always carry a crossbody bag. I love this Chloe one because it has a little western style to it with the shape and stitching. If the weather is chilly, I’ll be bringing my navy tights and layering with a denim jacket like the Scotch&Soda jacket shown.<\/p>\n

The key to packing light is to use <\/span><\/i>packing cubes<\/span><\/i><\/a> to compress your clothing as shown in <\/span><\/i>this<\/span><\/i><\/a> video! <\/span><\/i><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

After a full day of learning sessions, presenters and attendees will attend a fabulous cocktail party with seasonal cocktails and delicious Southern inspired appetizers. I wanted to go a little more glam for the closing event. I love to mix high and low elements of fashion so I paired this Tibi Rococo print dress with the denim and leather jacket, and the “moto-style” black booties.<\/p>\n
